Dagon

Back to shelf
Living Canaanite and Ugaritic grimoire portrait of Dagon, also Dagan, without fish, merman, grain, or unsupported object traits.

Dagon, also Dagan, is attested at Ugarit, including a temple on the acropolis, but his Ugaritic function and securely identifiable visual anatomy remain limited. The late fish-deity tradition is explicitly rejected by the reviewed ORACC control.
