Belisama

Back to shelf
Conservative living grimoire portrait of the Gaulish goddess Belisama in restrained southern Gaulish clothing.

Belisama is a securely attested Gaulish goddess: a second- or first-century BC Gallo-Greek inscription from Vaison-la-Romaine records a nemeton dedicated to Belesama, while a later Saint-Lizier inscription preserves the joined form Minerva Belisama without supplying a secure portrait.
