Gobannus

Back to shelf
Living grimoire portrait of Gobannus in a Gallo-Roman helmet and cloak, holding exactly one upright spear.

Gobannus is a securely named Gaulish and Gallo-Roman god attested by a Gaulish-language dedication from Bern and a Gallo-Roman inscribed statue naming Cobannus; the latter securely controls helmeted dress and a standing spear without merging him with Roman Mars.
