Jarilo

Back to shelf
Living antiquarian grimoire portrait convention for the late seasonal Jarilo or Yarilo ritual figure, without effigy, horse, grain, wreath, branch, or reconstructed divine objects.

Jarilo is the canonical record for Jarilo and Yarilo orthographic forms in late East Slavic seasonal ritual and folklore. Direct medieval cult evidence is absent, and comparative reconstructions do not establish identity with Jarovit or Saint George.
