Svantevit

Back to shelf
Living four-headed Rani or Rugian grimoire portrait of Svantevit in a long tunic, holding one decorated drinking horn in one source-attested right hand.

Svantevit is the canonical record for the Rani or Rugian deity named Suantovitus by Saxo and Zuantevith by Helmold. The Arkona witness securely describes four heads and necks and one horn, while later Svetovid spelling remains an alias rather than another entity.
