Geshtinanna

Back to shelf
Conservative living grimoire portrait of the Sumerian goddess Geshtinanna holding one plain clay tablet in a shadowed southern Mesopotamian reedland.

Geshtinanna is an early Sumerian goddess whose surviving literature presents her as Dumuzi's sister, a skilled tablet scribe and singer, and a wise interpreter of dreams. Her ancient iconography is unknown, so the image is a conservative living reconstruction controlled by the tablet role in Dumuzid's Dream.
